Golf Putting Tips

If you want to select the correct putter for yourself, you will have
to learn to adjust to the lie. The putter can be adjusted to fit the
golfer rather than the golfer having to adjust to the putter. A lie
angle adjustment feature will allow the golfer to make sure the putter
head is soled properly (flat on the ground) at address while taking a
correct posture. This is especially critical if your potter has a
diameter adjuster. You will notice that the difference in your putt's
target path will be huge. Even if you have a belly putter.

Here are some good putting tips. If you’re not balancing your club face right, your head is not in the
game. It’s critical that your club is properly balanced so a putter
with rear mounting is preferable. If appropriate lie angle limit
provisions are made, the putter can be a USGA conforming adjustable
lie angle design which remains face balanced at any lie angle.

You can begin properly adjusting your club as soon as you figure out
the lie situation. Thus achieving his desired position with eyes over
the ball/target line. Stand in front of the ball and relax your arms.
That’s how you find the right position. Your arms should not be
tensed. A good swing should be one fluid motion. Golf putters are extremely responsive.

Some men and nearly all women golfers, beginners and experienced
alike, were gripping down on their putters by 3 to 4 inches because
they were using putters that were too long. There are precautionary
grooves built in most putters to align properly. When the golfers
gripped down 3 to 4 inches, their hands were down near the steel
shaft. The top area is flat for a reason and that reason it help you
grip. You can simply saw off the top portion and reapply the grip.
Most golf stores have a blacksmith that can perform this relatively
cheap and simple procedure without much alarm.

Another common mistake is picking a putter that is too short. Many
times people bought quality putters with no idea of how to use them.
Golfers who don't know how to do this correctly tend to nick the
ground with their swing causing the ball to become angled
incorrectly. Those golfers addressing their putts with their eyes
considerably inside of the ball/target line were creating alignment
difficulties. The golfer takes their normal putting posture holding a
golf ball at the tip of their nose. Then they drop the ball and note
where it landed relative to their feet/stance. The spot where the ball
hits the ground is the point where you should be putting.

Most golfers were using standard "off the rack" putters regardless of
whether they were too heavy or too light for them. They then have to
learn to use the putter as opposed to selecting the putter that best
suits them. The importance of the weight of the putter can only be
underestimated at your own peril. Don't ignore factors that might go
into proper putting such as the conditions on the green that might be
affected by the weight of your head.

The importance of proper putter face balance, length, lie angle and
weight in golf putter fitting cannot be overstated. Being the ultimate
putter means using the equipment best suited to you.
